"When I step on the Octave Fuzz, I want to hear a searing, melodic buzz saw. And that's what you get when you combine the fuzz with the sub octave voice and the high octave fuzz voice." (Slash)
Being a prototype for some time Dunlop introduced the MXR SF01 Octave Fuzz Slash Signature tone pedal in 2012. It features three separate effects:
Sub octave growl
Thick '70s shag fuzz
Psychedelic octave up fuzz
Control pots for volume, tone, fuzz, sub octave and octave up allow to tweak tones, whilst two footswitches allow to turn the octave effect on and off and toggle the fuzz effect in and out. A seperate switch allows the sub octave tone to be effected by the fuzz circuitry or left as a dry signal.
