Appetite For Destruction"We used classic instruments and classic amps. Our approach was reminiscent of stuff that was done in the sixties and early seventies." (Mike Clink)
After touring the clubs for months, Guns N' Roses finally released its debut album in July 1987. The band recorded twelve songs with Mike Clink in charge of the production. Twenty years after, Appetite For Destruction has sold 30 millions copies world-wide.

Miscellaneous
- Considered too provocative and banned by lots of distributors, the first cover of the album was replaced by a reproduction of one of Axl Rose's tattoo.
- Slash wrote the main riff of "Welcome To The Jungle", a song that appears on the soundtrack of the movie The Dead Pool with Clint Eastwood.
- "It's So Easy" was co-written by West Arkeen, a long time friend of the band. Duff McKagan put down the lyrics.
- "Nightrain" refears to a brand of cheap wine that Slash had pretty much abused at a time.
- Steven Adler and Izzy Stradlin wrote the lyrics of "Mr Brownstone", a song that created controversy since it implicitly refers to heroin abuse.
- The band composed "Paradise City" in the back of a rental van as being on the way back from playing a gig in San Francisco.
- Slash first played "Sweet Child O' Mine" intro as a joke but the song was added to track listing at the last minute to complete the album.
- "You're Crazy" was originally written as an acoustic song but was revamped to feature on Appetite For Destruction.
- Originally named "My Way Your Way", the first version of "Anything Goes" lasted over twelve minutes.
- With over 30 million copies sold worldwide, Appetite For Destruction is one of the best-selling records of all time.
